My work is mainly concerned with imagery filtered through methods of representation.

I take photographs but I’m not a photographer. I see myself as a painter, yet I don’t use paint.

Translation alters meaning, however slightly. Intent and effect become unrelated as the digital image data are over-written by underlying or surrounding information. My interests lie in exploring this region of repeated interpretations between the initial and the final image. I try to describe how the message/image is transformed by the medium.

I find it remarkable how digital information, with its perfect propagation, its non-ageing coherence and its apparent immunity to all degenerative processes, can be used to create results that are unique and paradoxically unpredictable.
